Citroen’s radical new C4 is now on sale in the UK, offering a mould-breaking blend of sensational styling and innovative new technologies, with notable firsts including a multi-functional fixed-centred controls steering wheel and an inbuilt air freshener, in addition to a superb driving experience, class-leading aerodynamics and excellent value for money.
Besides its eye-catching new styling, and in keeping with Citroen’s great value reputation, all new C4 models come with a long and impressive list of standard equipment, all competitively priced from £11,095 for the three-door 1.4i 16V VT up to £18,395 for the range topping five-door 138hp 2.0HDi Exclusive.
With twenty two variants, including a choice of eight engines as well as dramatically different three-door coupé and five-door hatchback versions, the new C4 is set to win many friends in both the fleet and private sectors, particularly in the rapidly growing diesel market.
The C4 is the first all-new Citroen to feature the Company’s new corporate look. The front end shows off the boomerang headlamp design and chrome double chevron grille to maximum effect, and nearly all models come fitted with attractive alloy wheels, but it is from the B-pillar back that the hatchback and coupé models break into their own highly original styles.
With its carefully crafted rear end unveiling a slender taillight design that gently wraps around to sit neatly above the rear arches, the curvier five-door hatchback is beautifully proportioned. And with the panoramic sunroof fitted, an option also available on the coupé models, the cabin feels especially bright and airy.
The dramatic profile of the coupé, however, is particularly stunning. The long, swooping roofline arcs right back from the windscreen pillar to the sharply angled rear where it drops almost vertically, the rear screen forming both part of the roof line and the vertical tailgate.
