Citroen’s stylish and spacious C3 supermini range has just been boosted by the arrival of two new models as well as the introduction of enhanced safety and equipment levels.
The entire range is now equipped with ABS with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and EBA (Emergency Braking Assistance) as standard, adding to the already high safety levels that have made the C3 such a reassuringly safe car to be in - the C3 Pluriel was even named Europe’s safest supermini after the recent Euro NCAP crash tests.
Also making an entrance is the well specified 1.1i Desire. The introduction of this new petrol model means that customers can lay their hands on a C3 with air conditioning, remote central locking, CD player and four airbags for £8,595, including £1,000 cashback.
All SX models get Automatic Digital Air Conditioning as standard, while the fact that all LX models are now fitted with a CD Player will be music to many C3 buyers’ ears.
In addition, a new entry-level diesel model, the 70hp 1.4 HDi L, becomes Citroen’s first Euro 4 compliant engine. As well as providing a valuable 3% tax break for fleets, it boasts impressive fuel economy, averaging some 66mpg on the combined cycle. Prices start at £9,300 including Citroen’s current £1,000 cashback offer.Published 24 October 2003
