Citroen C2 VTS
Built on the same platform as Europe’s safest supermini - the C3 Pluriel - according to the EuroNCAP crash tests, all C2 models have been awarded a 4-star rating. And the C2 VTS features levels of safety and security that few rivals can match, including ESP - exceptional in this class of car, it is standard on the C2 VTS. Whilst ESP provides extra traction in slippery conditions, drivers can also choose to switch the system off for a more pure driving experience.
Like the rest of the remarkably well-equipped C2 range, the C2 VTS offers four airbags (driver, passenger and side) as standard, as well as ABS with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and EBA (Emergency Braking Assistance). And in the event of rapid deceleration or impact, the hazard warning lights activate automatically to warn other road users.
Other features designed to make driving safer and less stressful, such as side window airbags, rear parking sensors and automatic illumination of the headlamps, are available among the list of options.
The 2004 British Insurance Security Awards (BISCA) named the C3 the UK’s most secure supermini, and the C2 VTR the country’s most secure performance car under £15,000. In keeping with Citroen’s rapidly growing reputation for producing secure cars, the C2 VTS has been awarded the same, high rating, helping it to obtain the ultra-low group 8 insurance rating bestowed on it.
C2 VTS owners benefit from the following security features as standard: an anti-theft alarm, an advanced transponder immobiliser, remote central locking with deadlocks and dashboard-mounted control, and automatic locking of the doors and boot when the car is in motion.
