With the introduction of a brand new range of accessories, Citroen’s recently launched, wickedly styled supermini, the C2, is set to be as much of a hit with those owners wanting to personalise their car as its predecessor, the Saxo.
To give the C2’s bold exterior an even more sporty appearance, Citroen is offering a full-on ‘Bodystyling Kit’ that includes front, side and rear skirts, door mouldings and a ‘Sport Style’ tailgate spoiler. This spoiler, similar to the one on the C2 Super 1600 rally car, can also be bought separately, and C2 owners can further modify their cars thanks to the availability of a range of 14" to 16" alloy wheels, ‘crystal style’ side repeater lamps or a fog lamp kit.
For the extra cool factor, the interior can be vamped up with subtle touches such as ‘aluminium look’ trim around the air vents, centre console switches and gearlever, or a choice of translucent gearknobs. The cabin can be brightened up even more by opting for a manual or electric sunroof.
Among the list of clever gadgetry available is a high performance 5 CD system and colour satellite navigation with widescreen monitor and scrolling display. There’s also a range of hands-free phone kits, including the latest Bluetooth wireless technology. And for making tight parking even easier, a reverse parking sensor kit can be fitted.
With free insurance on the sporty C2 VTR and Furio models, and prices that start at under £7,000 for the C2 1.1i L, including the latest cashback offer, there’s more than a little justification for perusing Citroen’s full list of accessories, which can be viewed at www.accessories.citroen.co.uk . And for those who can’t stretch their budget to the real thing, a 5cm long, infra-red controlled ‘C2 iRacer’ for around £50 could be the perfect alternative!Published 20 November 2003
