New Look Berlingo Takes Jolly's Fancy

Citroen Berlingo

Major specialist contractors T Jolly Services Ltd, Preston, has taken delivery of some of the first New Look Berlingo vans to be delivered to a UK fleet customer.

The company is one of the largest of its type in the North West. It specialises in the installation and maintenance of central heating and air conditioning systems, as well as electrical contracting for both private and commercial customers. As such T Jolly Services’ skilled staff work on major contracts throughout the UK.

Its first New Look Berlingo order is for three 1.9D LX 800kg payload models. In addition the company has also taken delivery of a Dispatch 1.9D 815 van – all these new vehicles have been supplied by Dutton Forshaw Citroen, Preston.

T Jolly Services specified New Look Berlingos after very satisfactory operating experience with the previous model Berlingo vans. Alan Stoker, T Jolly Services Ltd’s chairman, remarks, "Our first batch of Berlingos has proved to be both popular with the drivers and very economical to operate. We also get excellent service from Dutton Forshaw. Now, as the New Look Berlingo has more equipment, a better warranty and is available at very attractive purchase or contract hire rates, it makes even better economic sense."

The company, which is CORGI, HVCA and REFCOM registered, operates a mixed fleet of some 100 vehicles. The latest Citroen order replaces Seat Inca and VW Transporter vans in the fleet. T Jolly Services acquires its vehicles through a mix of contract hire and outright purchase.

In service with the company the New Look Berlingos will have a three year life. Dependent on whether they are allocated to the company’s contract, maintenance or air conditioning divisions these vans will cover between 15,000 and 25,000 miles per year.
