In March 2011, Citroen registered nearly 42,000 passenger cars in France, the highest monthly total in the country for over 40 years. March saw the first quarter 2011 to a positive end, with Citroen outperforming the market by 19.2% for passenger cars and 18.7% for light commercial vehicles.
Xavier Chardon, Head of Market Area France said: "These results reflect the enthusiasm of consumers for Citroen cars. Consumer sales were up 37% on March 2010, placing the Marque number-one in consumer sales for the month".
Citroen saw 49,746 vehicle registrations in France in March 2011, up 19% on March 2010. Those figures include more than 6,300 Citroen C4s and 12,500 Citroen C3s registered in March.
4,500 Citroen DS3s were registered for the vehicle's birthday month, taking the first year total to 35,800.Published 5 April 2011
