At the time of this report there were no EuroNCAP ratings for the Citroen Nemo but in terms of safety
There are two engine choices for the Citroen Nemo; a 1.4i 75hp and a 1.4HDi 70hp. The latter was in the Citroen Nemo test car in combination with a very user-friendly, 5-speed manual gearbox. This engine is also available with the new 5-speed, SensoDrive automatic and sequential transmission.
In the Citroen Nemo we tested, the diesel unit produced 70PS at 4,00rpm and 160Nm of torque from just 1,750 rpm. It offers a top speed of 94mph and the 0-62mph sprint takes a leisurely 18.2 seconds. It feels faster and the low down torque threshold makes it seem more energetic than the figures would suggest.
Surprisingly, for its bulky looks, the Citroen Nemo is the most well balanced car that I have driven in a while and its predictability makes for some fun driving and will inspire confidence in any driver. It is just so easy.
On top of this, there are the favourable fuel consumption figures of: 49.6mpg for the urban cycle, 74.3- for the extra-urban and 62.8mpg for the combined. The Co2 emissions are posted as 119g/km putting it in VED Band C and the insurance is low too, at 2E.
At the time of this report there were no EuroNCAP ratings for the Citroen Nemo but in terms of safety, the car comes with two front and lateral airbags as well as ABS with EBD.
I liked the Citroen Nemo, it has a light and airy interior and offers plenty of room for passengers and apart from the obvious load-lugging capacity, it lives up to its Multispace name with an array of cubbies and drinks holders to compliment the large glovebox. At present, Citroen's £2,000 Scrappage Incentive applies to the Citroen Nemo, making it even more of a bargain.10 September 2009
