The new Citroen C4 Cactus has gone on sale priced from £12,990 for the entry level PureTech 75 manual Touch model and rise to £18,910 for the ETG6 equipped e-HDi 92 Flair.
Built on the same platform as the DS3 in Madrid, the Citroen C4 Cactus blends the styling of a concept car with that of a contemporary crossover, oh and a hatchback. It has a footprint measuring 4.16m long x 1.73 wide x 1.48 high and can carry between 358 and 1,170 litres of luggage.
There are three trim levels, ‘Touch’, ‘Feel’ & the top-of-the-range ‘Flair’ model.
All models feature the Airbump technology which helps to protect the bodywork from minor impacts, there are wide sofa inspired front seats and 7” touch drive interface which controls features such as the air conditioning, dab radio and vehicle settings.
On the options list you can specify, Park Assist, a reversing camera, cornering lights and hill start assist.
You choose between10 body colours with 3 interior trim colours and 5 choices of seat upholstery.
There is a choice of six engines, four are petrol units PureTech 75PS, PureTech 82PS, PureTech 82PS S&S & PureTech 110PS S&S – and the two HDi diesels are the e-HDi 92PS and BlueHDi 100PS. All of the diesel models qualify to be exempt from Vehicle Excise Duty (Road Tax) with CO2 emissions all under 100 g/km. If you want a petrol engine then the PureTech 82PS S&S is also exempt.
Depending on the engine there is the choice of 5-speed manual or 5 or 6-speed ETG (Efficient Tronic Gearbox) transmissions.Published 11 September 2014
