Citroen C3 VTR

Resolved to get a new, fitter look for the New Year? Well, Citroen’s C3 supermini is revealing its own sportier-looking side with the arrival of a new VTR version. Powered by a 110hp 1.6i 16V petrol engine, the striking C3 VTR features a smart new bodykit, bold 16" alloys and 120mph performance, all for a little over £10,500*.

The C3 VTR shows off a stylish new body that includes chunky 16" ‘Leopard’ alloy wheels, beefy wheel arch extensions, body-coloured rubbing strips and a chrome tailpipe. The redesigned, sharper front end incorporates a new bumper, a broader air intake and new fog light housings, whilst the rear bumper has also been restyled.

Drivers on the way to the gym will also appreciate the more dynamic feel of the interior of the C3 VTR, with its black leather steering wheel and gear knob, and bolstered, firmed up sports seats. A new dark grey trim completes the sporty character of the new model.

Everyday comforts still top the agenda, and the C3 VTR is impressively loaded with important goodies such as air conditioning, variable power steering and electric front windows. And for journeys longer than to the local leisure centre, owners will appreciate the in-car CD player with steering wheel mounted controls, as well as the front arm rests.

In addition to its funky looks, spacious interior and five door practicality, the C3 VTR is also one of the safest and most secure runners around town. ABS with EBD and EBA, four airbags and an alarm are all standard, while ESP with traction control is also available.

The 110hp engine, which is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, can return a sub-10 second 0-62mph time and almost 44mpg on the combined cycle. On top of all this, an introductory cashback offer means that you can easily shed £2,000 off the recommended retail price of £12,545, ensuring that the C3 VTR is certainly one good New Year’s intention.

* £2,000 cashback offer applicable to models ordered by 31 January 2005 and registered by 31 March 2005.
