New Chrysler Derivatives Introduced For 2003

Chrysler Jeep Grand Voyager Limited SX

Chrysler is extending the appeal of its highly praised PT Cruiser and Voyager models by introducing a number of new derivatives and specification changes.

The changes, introduced for model year 2003, provide an entry-level variant for the PT Cruiser CRD, a new trim level for Voyager, increased safety features across the PT Cruiser range, new alloy wheels and other design tweaks.

Chrysler PT Cruiser

The PT Cruiser 2.2 CRD will have a new "Classic" trim level for 2003 providing an attractive entry into the PT Cruiser diesel variants. Equipment level is the same as the Classic petrol derivative and includes front airbags, side airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners, electric heated door mirrors, air conditioning and day/night rear view mirror. The 2.2 CRD Classic will cost £16,495 on the road.

The biggest specification change to the PT Cruiser range is a new chrome look introduced to Limited models. The new look will include chrome accents on horizontal grille bars and body side mouldings while the filler cap, door lock knobs and gear knob also get the chrome treatment.

Further to this change, other specification changes to the PT Cruiser include ABS braking as standard throughout the range, new alloy wheels on Touring models, new wheel covers on Classic models, a cue ball design shift knob added to automatic cars and a new colour, Deep Cranberry.

Chrysler Voyager and Grand Voyager

For model year 2003 Grand Voyager will gain a new trim level, Limited XS, in both 3.3 V6 and 2.5 CRD variants.

This exciting new model will feature superb new equipment such as a removable centre console with 12 volt power outlet, fully integrated DVD system with seven-inch overhead screen and GPS navigational radio with AM/FM and CD player. The car will be identified by new "XS" badging.

Other changes to the new Voyager and Grand Voyager line-ups include power tailgate standardised on all Limited models and power sliding doors available as an option on LX models. Matt finish alloy wheels replace the chrome wheels on Limited models, traction control is introduced on Limited models, and a 6-disc in-dash CD player replaces the 4-disc changer on Limited models.

Dual zone climate control replaces dual zone air conditioning on all LX and 2.5 CRD Limited models and Light Pewter and Brilliant Black are introduced as new colours.

Simon Elliott, Managing Director of Chrysler and Jeep in the UK said: "PT Cruiser and Voyager are two of Chrysler’s jewels in the crown and I am delighted that we have been able to make these fantastic changes to the cars to make them even more desirable, more pleasing to drive and even greater value for money."

All Chrysler vehicles come with a full peace-of-mind warranty package which provides three years/60,000-mile cover plus seven years/unlimited mileage anti-corrosion warranty and three years roadside emergency cover.
