Chrysler And Jeep Come To Coventry

Published: 24th December 2003
The famous American Chrysler and Jeep brands will be arriving in Coventry in the New Year, when motor retailing group Listers takes on the new franchise.

Listers of Coventry will open in Brandon Road, Binley, on 2nd January, taking over the territory currently occupied by Kings Warwick. The Warwick dealership will close on the 31st December.

Warren Depledge, current Dealer Principal of Listers Chrysler and Jeep of Lincoln and Boston, will expand his remit to Coventry and be joined by at least nine staff from Kings Warwick. A further 20 staff, including a Sales Manager, will be recruited during January.

The Brandon Road site, which is currently an empty showroom, is extensive and will have more than 50 approved cars on offer. It will house sales, service, parts and accessories.

Warren said he was delighted with the acquisition. "This is an exciting period in the development of both Listers and Chrysler and Jeep in the UK," he said. "The large site is ideally located in the city and is easily accessible. Customers will also continue to see familiar faces when they visit Listers of Coventry, as the Kings Warwick team will transfer over."

The Listers Group started life in 1979 when Terry Lister opened his first centre. It is now the 30th largest motor group in the UK and currently owns 30 business centres, two specialist accident repair centres, a motorcycle distributor and two PDI centres.
