Chrysler had plenty of cause to celebrate after clinching a record fleet sale of its popular PT Cruiser model.

The sale of 23 2.2-litre CRD Classics – with a retail value of more than £326,000 – to Hemel Hempstead-based telecommunications company DeTeWe, surpasses its previous best fleet sale of 19 PTs completed last November.

In both cases, the buyers cited the PT Cruiser’s distinctive design combined with its work-horse ability and perfect domestic credentials for choosing the Chrysler over other rivals on the market.

This latest fleet deal has been completed by Cannon Lane Chrysler and Jeep based in Luton, supported by Chrysler’s fleet services division.

Mike Arthur, National Corporate Sales Manager for Chrysler & Jeep in the UK said: "I'm delighted with this fleet sale as it goes to show that the PT Cruiser is ideal for business use. The PT is unique in this sector with its very distinctive looks and design while being spacious and practical at the same time. This deal represents Chrysler & Jeep's growing ambition to sell more cars into the business sector throughout our entire dealer network."
