The new Chrysler Grand Voyager has won the Best Large MPV category at the prestigious What Car? Car of the Year Awards.
Simon Elliott, Managing Director of the Chrysler Group, accepted the award from David Motton, editor of What Car? magazine, at the ceremony held at the London Grosvenor House Hotel on Thursday 20th January.
Commenting on the award, Simon Elliott said: "The Grand Voyager has firmly established itself as one of the UK’s favourite family cars. In May last year the original Multi-Purpose Vehicle was given a new look, a new engine and substantially increased safety features, but it was our new Stow ‘n Go seating system that really caught the judging panel’s eye.
"What Car? magazine is held in high regard by the car-buying public, so I’m sure that winning this award will mean the Grand Voyager Stow ‘n Go will become even more popular with families and small businesses who need the versatility of a car and the load space of a van."
The unique Stow ‘n Go seating system is a standard feature on the Grand Voyager - and enables owners to fold the second and third row of seats flat into the floor in less than 30 seconds.
What Car? editor, David Motton, commented: "The new Grand Voyager is the first large MPV to offer seats that simply fold into the floor. Chrysler’s Stow ‘n Go system gives the Grand Voyager the edge over rivals and couldn’t be easier to use. All five rear seats simply fold flat into compartments under the floor, removing the need to fiddle with complicated hinges and catches. No more cluttering the garage with bulky seats either.
"Good visibility makes this an easy car to drive and park for one so big. Big MPVs are bought by families, so safety is key. Anti-lock brakes, twin front airbags and side curtain are standard fit and security is boosted by deadlocks, an alarm and remote central locking.
"Add up all these plus points and the Grand Voyager argues a strong case for itself - it’s big, it’s clever, and it’s the best large MPV on sale today."
The new Chrysler Grand Voyager is available from £25,720 and comes with a three-year or 60,000 mile warranty and European roadside assistance, plus a seven-year unlimited mileage anti-corrosion guarantee.
