The new Chrysler 300C will be available in the UK from the middle of June 2012, priced from £35,995 for the Limited model rising to £39,995 for the top of the range Executive.
The predecessor was discontinued in 2010 and the new model under the ownership of Fiat has seen an increase in the list price.
The new 300C is powered by Fiat’s own ‘MultiJet 2’ 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel, which produces 236 bhp, delivering 540 Nm of torque which equates to 0-62 mph time of 7.4 seconds and a top speed of 144 mph. Co2 emissions are rated at 185 g/km and the official combined fuel figure is 39.8 mpg.
There is the possibility of Chrysler's 3.6-litre Pentastar petrol engine but as the market is very limited, currently there is no-official confirmation.
Standard equipment on the Limited model includes keyless entry, automatic headlights, daytime running lights, a SmartBeam system that adapts them to the light in the surrounding environment, automatic windscreen wipers and automatic temperature control plus Uconnect multi-media infotainment system with navigation.
The Executive adds a full length dual pane panoramic sun roof and the traditional fuel cap has become a thing of the past. Instead the fuel flap opens at the push of a button, a fuel filler pipe opens when the pump nozzle is inserted and closes automatically when refuelling has been completed, helping to protect against theft and vandalism as well as fuel spills and incorrect fuelling. There are also 20” wheels, adaptive cruise control, Blind spot monitoring system, forward collision warning system and an ungraded hi-fi pack.
Currently the 300C will only be available as salon with no plans for an estate variation.Published 2 June 2012
