A Sports Study On Daewoo’s New Five-Door Hatchback

Designed to gain customer feedback on how special sports packages may appeal to specific customer groups, the Irmscher Kalos was created for the Motor Show by the German tuning specialists Irmscher. The style of the Giugiaro designed Kalos already has a fresh new look, this is further enhanced in this design study by overtly sporting cues.

Andy Carroll, GM Daewoo UK’s new managing director said: “Exhibiting the Irmscher Kalos at the Motor Show enabled us to gain reaction from a wide cross-section of customer groups to a Daewoo with an overtly sporting flavour. Depending on the reaction, we could market some or all of the ingredients of this sporting study. I can see that some of these elements could also be used in a special edition.”

The Irmscher Kalos is based on the standard 1.4SE model with the following additions:

Exterior:

Front grille with lamella insert

New fog lamp design

  Electric fabric sunroof
  Twin exhaust tailpipe
Chassis: Uprated spring and damper settings

Suspension lowered by 50mm

  7.5J x 17” Ronal alloy wheels

205/45 x 17” tyres

Interior: Two-tone (black/red) seats and door panels with leather inserts
Aluminium-look gear lever knob, handbrake and centre console
  Leather steering wheel
