The Chevrolet Trax will go on sale priced from £15,495 and is available to order from today. The first orders are expected at Chevrolet dealers from July 2013.
The Trax is a compact SUV with the choice of either front-wheel or all-wheel drive.
There is a choice of three engines – two petrol and one diesel unit. There is a 140 hp 1.4 litre turbocharged unit with a 6-speed manual gearbox and 115 hp 1.6 litre with a 5-speed box. There is a diesel 1.7 litre which produces 130 hp and this is available with either a 6-speed manual or auto transmission. The manual editions come with Stop/Start to aid fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions.
The Chevrolet Trax is available in two trims – the Trax LS priced at £15,495 and LT starting at £17,495.
The Trax LS trim level features 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, remote central locking, rear parking sensors, front fog lights and auto headlights together with Bluetooth compatibility.
The LT trim level adds 18-inch alloy wheels, a rear parking camera, light-sensitive rear view mirror and leather steering wheel and gear knob, as well as the Chevrolet MyLink system which intergrates smartphones onto the seven-inch high resolution full-colour touch screen display. Mylink allows access to personal playlists, photo galleries, phone books, and other stored media and data. It will support TuneIn internet radio, Siri Eyes Free, an intelligent assistant, as well as BringGo, a navigation app that can be downloaded onto compatible smartphones.Published 1 March 2013
