Chevrolet Matiz
Best-Value, Best-Equipped City Car
With its appealing design, the Matiz has conquered the hearts of small-car buyers in many countries: Since it was launched in 1998, more than 500,000 people all over Europe have decided that the Matiz is the car for them. This customer response is a big compliment for the famous Italdesign team led by company founder Giorgetto Giugiaro, who gave the best-selling city car its unique styling with characteristic features and smiling face.
Simple two-model line up for 2005
Matiz starts 2005 with a two model range, both fitted with the lively 1.0 litre four-cylinder engine, and some minor refinements and additional practical details. The Matiz SE features new wheel trims with a ten spoke design and both SE and LE have modified instrument graphics that are easier to read, as well as new fabrics. Door mirrors with remote adjustment, a box for sun glasses, and a shopping-bag hook at the back of the front head rest make Matiz even more practical.
Complementing its charm, there are many practical reasons for buying this cute city car – for example the standard feature of five doors, the generous amount of space for this class of vehicle, its attractive price and its three-year Chevrolet Complete Care package. The low running costs coupled with low insurance ratings add to a convincing argument for purchase.
With a top speed of 152 km/h the Matiz 1.0 covers the sprint from zero to 100 km/h within 12.9 seconds and it’s very economical, consuming 6.4 litres of petrol per 100 kilometres (MVEG combined cycle).
A joy in town with power steering and compact dimensions
Because of its ultra-compact size, Matiz is extremely manoeuvrable – a major advantage in urban traffic. With its exterior length of 3,495 millimetres and turning circle of exactly nine meters, it fits into even the smallest parking space. Thanks to its intelligent utilisation of space, the five-seater nevertheless boasts a relatively large amount of room inside, generating a light and airy feeling. In terms of headroom, for example, the Matiz comes out top of its class with 995 and 962 millimetres in the front and back respectively. The modern design of the cockpit and the attractive fabrics offer passengers a friendly atmosphere, while the cup holders in the centre console and the coin tray make it easy to keep these things accessible.
