The Chevrolet Aveo was the safest super-mini tested by Euro NCAP in 2011.
The new Chevrolet Aveo secured 85 out of a possible 100 points, placing it at the very top of its segment. Judges were impressed by the key areas of adult and child occupant protection, where it scored 95 and 87 per cent respectively.
Standard safety equipment on the Aveo includes six airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, a four-channel anti-lock braking system with brake assist, and electronic brake force distribution. There is also hill-start assist and cruise control with a speed limiter function to protect your driving licence.
Four engines are available – two petrol units - 1.2-litre (86PS) and a 1.4-litre (100PS) petrol -and a 1.3-litre VCDi diesel, with power outputs of either 75 or 95PS. All except the 1.3 VCDi 95PS come with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard (the 95PS VCDi has a six-speed), while the 1.4-litre models have the option of a six-speed automatic.
There are three trim levels for the Chevrolet Aveo, LS, LT and the top of the range LTZ:
Chevrolet Aveo LS - standard equipment includes air-conditioning, cruise control, remote locking, a rear spoiler, CD-stereo radio, electrically adjustable heated door mirrors and electric front windows.
Chevrolet Aveo LT model adds – 15-inch alloy wheels, steering wheel audio controls, a four-way adjustable driver’s seat, sunglasses holder, a Driver Information Centre, Bluetooth phone compatibility with music streaming, and a chrome gear knob surround.
Chevrolet Aveo LTZ model gains a leather steering wheel, front fog lamps, six speakers, rear parking sensors and automatic headlamps.
