The Chevrolet Aveo and Orlando Receive Five Star NCAP Safety Ratings

In the adult and child occupant rating, the Chevrolet Aveo scored 95 and 87 per cent respectively while the Chevrolet Orlando scored 95 per cent in adult occupant protection and 79 per cent for child occupant protection.

The new Chevrolet Aveo and Orlando MPV have been awarded with the five star NCAP safety rating.

The Chevrolet Aveo, on sale from autumn 2011, received 85 out of 100 points, which means it is amongst the best of the segment. Meanwhile, the Chevrolet Orlando was awarded 80 out 100 points, also receiving EuroNCAP's highest rating.

In the adult and child occupant rating, the Chevrolet Aveo scored 95 and 87 per cent respectively while the Chevrolet Orlando scored 95 per cent in adult occupant protection and 79 per cent for child occupant protection.

"Both the Orlando and the new Aveo hatchback provide formidable levels of safety," said Wayne Brannon, President and Managing Director, Chevrolet Europe. "Safety matters a lot to us and we are delighted that these two vehicles have earned the top European rating."

Standard safety features of the Chevrolet Aveo include six standard airbags connected to the sensing and diagnostic modules mounted into the middle of the car. It also features a child-seat latching system. Active safety systems include electronic stability control, traction control, a four-channel anti-lock braking system with brake assist, and electronic brake force distribution. Hill-start assist and cruise control with speed limiter function as standard.

The Chevrolet Orlando also features six standard airbags, as well as ISOFIX elements for child seats. In the event of an impact, the Chevrolet Orlando features a crash sensor which will automatically unlock the doors upon impact. Anti-lock braking, traction control, electronic brake force distribution, brake assist and electronic stability control are also standard fit on all Chevrolet Orlando models.
