The Caterham Seven celebrates its 30th anniversary this summer with the release of two Limited Edition models – the Tracksport and SV 30.
Aimed at the two communities who typify the current Colin Chapman designed Seven generation, the Tracksport is a pure, out and out track day car, whilst the SV 30 provides the unequivocal B-road sensation.
Limited to an exclusive run of just 30 (15 of each model), new owners will quickly be able to enjoy the merits of Seven motoring thanks to two special offers.
Inclusive with every Tracksport, a day at Palmersport’s unique Autodrome complex in Bedford will provide the perfect environment for the motorsport inspired car. Meanwhile, SV 30 buyers can explore some of Britain’s most enticing roads in one of Britain’s most exciting cars during a weekend break at one of Hilton’s luxury hotels.
Drawing its power from the race tuned MG X Power 1.8-litre unit, the Tracksport develops a Porsche chomping 140bhp, which, allied to its minimalist, lightweight frame, makes it an ideal companion for the track day thrill seeker. Developed from racing, the Caterham Tracksport has now undergone over 100,000 gruelling test miles at Jonathan Palmer’s Autodrome complex.
From a standing start, the Caterham will reach 60mph in just 5.3 seconds, going on to a top speed of 122mph and corner like nothing else on the circuit.
The track-only specified model comes complete with race dampers, carbon wing protectors, FIA roll bar, Caterham race seat, Momo quick release steering wheel, 5 point race harness, 5 speed ‘box, and wide track front suspension.
Available in Celebration Green and factory built, the Tracksport is priced at an unrivalled £17,950 on the track.
Since 1973, Caterham has honed Colin Chapman’s pioneering design both on and off the track. During that time, the basic shape and dimensions have remained true to the original Seven; that was until the introduction of the Roadsport SV in 2000.
Today, the slightly wider and longer version of the Seven accounts for 30 per cent of all sales, so it is fitting that the SV should form the basis of the second Limited Edition.
Finished in Boston Green, the ultra-reliable, yet flexible, 120bhp 1.6-litre MG X Power unit has been strapped to the factory built SV 30 frame. Mated to an equally snappy 5-speed box, this Seven proves itself as the ultimate antithesis to the gadget laden modern motoring experience.
With a fuel consumption figure of 37mph at touring speeds and 0-60 time of 6.0 secs, the 107lbs ft of torque on tap helps deliver that truly unique Seven drive.
The SV 30 goes on sale at just £19,950 including leather seats, 15" 10 spoke alloys and full weather gear.
