BMW Sells Out Of 6 Series

Published: 4th December 2003
BMW's return to the large coupe market after 14 years has been a sell-out in the UK.

Buyers ordering a car now will have to wait until 2005. Nearly all the first year's 6 Series allocation of 1,700 have been sold, some four months before deliveries start in spring 2004.

The 645Ci goes on sale in March when it will be joined by a soft-top version, which makes its public debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit next month.

BMW expects about 1,000 buyers a year for the convertible.

The 645Ci costs from £49,855 with a six-speed manual gearbox. An automatic ‘box adds £1,350 and a sequential manual gearchange (SMG) is £880.
