BMW Great Britain today announces an exciting new venture in association with Rockingham that will ensure BMW Group products are experienced by a comprehensive range of guests at a dedicated and bespoke venue.
The BMW Performance Centre at Rockingham, near Corby, Northants, will accommodate a full programme of internal and external BMW activities, featuring BMW cars, motorcycles and associated technologies. These programmes are set to benefit BMW customers, aspiring BMW owners and visitors to Rockingham, as well as facilitating BMW company activities in the UK such as BMW training, new product launch activities, corporate events and dealer driven events and activities.

The BMW Performance Centre at Rockingham will open its doors in November as BMW activities begin at the UK’s first purpose-built motor racing venue in a generation. Visitors to Rockingham will first see BMW’s presence across the range of Rockingham Experience driving activities. These performance driving activities will feature a mouth-watering line-up of BMW Group products including Z4, M3, X5, 3 Series and MINI Cooper S models.
A full programme of public and corporate activities is then planned for 2004, a year in which BMW Great Britain will launch six major new cars (6 Series Coupe, 6 Series Convertible, 5 Series Touring, X3, 1 Series, the convertible MINI), a raft of new model variants and the inaugural Formula BMW UK Championship.
Key activities already planned illustrate the flexibility and focus that Rockingham holds for many of BMW’s external and internal programmes. Planned events for 2004 include the company’s annual dealer principal conference, new car and motorcycle technical training by BMW’s Centre for Development (CfD), an M Track Day for M car owners, a corporate family day for key corporate customers and fleet managers, customer ride and drive events and a Formula BMW UK Championship test day.
A bespoke Welcome Centre that can accommodate 350 guests will form the nucleus of BMW’s exclusive activities at Rockingham. This fully flexible conference space also includes banqueting facilities with direct access to nine potential track configurations, an off-road course and the unique banked high speed oval.
