Andy Priaulx To Drive For BMW Great Britain In The European Touring Car Championship

Published: 21st November 2002
Andy Priaulx, the 28 year old ex F3 and 2002 BTCC driver, will compete on behalf of BMW Great Britain in next year’s 10 European Touring Car Championship events.

Priaulx will drive a new 2003 BMW 320i prepared by RBM (Racing Bart Mampaey) from its workshop in Mechelen, Belgium.

BMW Motorsport Manager Peter Walker said: "We believe Andy has ably demonstrated from his previous performance in both F3 and the BTCC that he has the pace, experience and development skills to be able to adapt quickly to the new challenges facing him in the ETCC."

Andy commented: "I’m delighted to be driving for BMW in the ETCC and especially to be flying the flag for BMW Great Britain in this prestigious series. I think it represents an opportunity to further my career on the international stage and I am looking forward to racing on some of Europe’s most demanding circuits.

"RBM is a proven BMW team with a good track record and I feel they can give me the right equipment to challenge for race wins through the season."
