Introducing The BMW ALPINA B7 - New Challenger For The Title Of World’s Fastest Production Saloon Car
The Goodwood Festival of Speed provides the backdrop for the UK launch of ALPINA’s mighty B7 saloon.
Based on the BMW 7 series, the two-ton saloon will transport five passengers in luxury and space at up to 186 mph.
In the hands of ALPINA engineers working in conjunction with their BMW counterparts, the already class-leading 4.4 litre V8 power plant now yields an extraordinary 500 bhp, achieving 0-60 mph in 4.8 seconds.
The new ALPINA patented Nautilus-type compressor enabling this tremendous gain also boosts fuel efficiency (22.1 mpg) and lowers emissions.
With 700 Nm of torque available from 3000 rpm to 6000 rpm, the effect on performance is staggering - a seamless, near linear build-up to maximum speed.
Formula 1 Style Racing Transmission
The new B7 offers 6-speed fully automatic transmission, transforming to shift-on-the-wheel F1 style gear changing, the instant a driver feels the urge to explore sporting capabilities completely belying the 2000kg kerb weight and vast interior dimensions of the car.
Like all ALPINA’s the new B7 affords virtually unlimited opportunities for individual specification, augmenting the long list of BMW state of the art "standard" amenities, with exclusive ALPINA designed leather interiors.
No Extra Cost To The Environment
Combined CO2 emission value is 306g/km, achieving Euro IV emissions. ALPINA also fulfils current EU requirements regarding recyclability of its vehicles.
Price: £76,900 on-the-road
