In the 2011 What Car? Green Car Awards, the BMW 318D ES Saloon has been named Best Executive Car.

Chas Hallett, What Car? Editor in Chief said: "The BMW 318d ES qualifies for the lowest, 13 per cent, company car tax band for diesel cars and can average 62.8mpg. It also costs a measly £30 a year to tax. It is equipped with a great 2.0-litre diesel engine that pulls strongly, and it offers a great premium driving experience. It grips strongly and has excellent poise."

This award comes as recent independent research shows that BMW is the UK's leading premium car manufacturer with the lowest average CO2 emissions of 142g/km.
