Bentley Brings Home The Big One

The marque's latest creation was selected from 100 vehicles at the British International Motor Show to win the prestigious accolade at last night's (Oct 22) Institute of Vehicle Engineers Motor Show Design Awards.
It beat the Jaguar XJ and Volvo XC90 to scoop the top award and also took the 'Best Luxury Car' award beating off close competition - again from the new Jaguar model.
Proudly holding the award a jubilant Andy Watt, marketing and communications director for Bentley, said: “The Volvo and Jaguar are fantastic cars but we were confident of winning the award as the private receptions we've had and the response we received at the Paris Motor Show have been tumultuous.”
He added that the GT is the first completely new model to come from its Crewe plant and is the result of the £500 million investment that has been made in Bentley at Crewe. “It's the first full car to come out of Crewe and it represents the know-how and craftsmanship that we've got there,” said Watt.
As many as 400 Bentley employees that helped design and build
the car have been invited to the show to enable them to share
in the winning of the IVehE awards.
