  • On-board internet access is an option

  • Less carrying capacity than rival Mercedes
  • Not quite as engaging to drive as rival BMW

Conclusion

The Audi A6 Avant is a class act. Svelte styling, a roomy, beautifully crafted cabin and strong performance from a frugal turbodiesel engine make this executive estate car an appealing proposition. The Audi brand is on a roll, with a steady stream of new models enhancing the four-rings brand’s desirability. The car’s pricing is competitive, although the price climbs steeply when you add tempting extras, which on the test car bumped up the price by an eye-watering £10,000. If a capable, capacious executive estate car is what you are after, this one should certainly be on the must-see list.
