New Alfa GT In The UK | Part Four

Interior

Despite relatively compact dimensions – 4.48 m long, 1.76 m wide and 1.37 m high with a 2.596 m wheelbase – the overtly sporting lines of the Alfa GT belie a surprisingly spacious, flexible interior.

Rear seat head and legroom has not been compromised, and the 60:40 split/folding rear seat with integral armrest and ski tunnel allows for the rapid expansion of the 320 cubic decimetre luggage compartment into a robust, practical flat load platform offering an impressive 905 cubic decimetres of stowage.

As with all Alfa Romeos, the interior is focused on the driver’s immediate surroundings, which have been designed with the greatest care. A height adjustable driver’s seat allied to a rake and reach adjustable, leather clad steering wheel ensure a perfect driving position.

The driver’s instrument binnacle houses large, deeply hooded speedometer and tachometer dials, with subsidiary fuel and temperature gauges, strictly analogue in true Alfa tradition and backlit in red to optimise the driver’s night vision. A multi-lingual, multi-function display gives access to a wide range of functions as well as the trip computer.

The Alfa GT’s centre console contains a sophisticated, Dual Zone climate control system and a stereo radio/CD player within easy operational reach of the driver. Specifically built for this passenger compartment, the stereo features eight speakers and a power output of 4x40 watts, offering outstanding sound quality.

As befitting a Gran Turismo coupe, elegant surroundings and superior comfort levels are assured aboard the new Alfa GT, with 2.0 JTS and 1.9 JTD 16v M-Jet models trimmed in Alfatex, (leather optional), and 2.0 JTS Selespeed and 3.2 V6 models featuring full leather trim in a choice of five colours.

Alfatex, a soft, durable, easy to clean fabric patented by Alfa Romeo, is available in black or grey. Black upholstery is married to a traditional, sporting, all-black dashboard, while grey Alfatex is offered with a choice of light and dark grey, or black and grey dashboards.

2.0 JTS versions of the Alfa GT feature a solid aluminium gear lever, with a leather trimmed version fitted as standard to the remainder of the range.
