Alfa 147 GTA In The UK

STYLE

Exterior

A sophisticated mechanical specification has been complemented by styling that conveys strength and sportiness. This objective has been deliberately achieved without altering the car’s original shape – one that is known and loved by 147 customers. Thus, changes that affect the external appearance are almost entirely limited to parts affected by technical changes to the chassis and mechanicals.

So the new car’s wider wings stand out to accommodate its 17 inch wheels (225/45); and the foglights have been shifted towards the outside of the car to free space around the intakes and allow more air into the engine.

Close inspection reveals that compared to 1.6 and 2.0 litre versions, the lower part of the 147 GTA’s rear is completely different from the level of the boot floor downwards. This is because the rear bumper contains an aerodynamic extractor that is visibly divided by metal panels into one central horizontal opening and two smaller side openings.

Ten body colours are available on the 147 GTA, including Nuvola White, an iridescent shade exclusive to the model.

Interior

Details exclusive to the new 147 GTA include a brand-new three-spoked steering wheel, gear lever with leather gaiter and surrounds in Puma grey, a darker shade than that of other Alfa 147 versions. There are sporty aluminium pedals, sports seats, and a footrest with rubber inserts. Leather upholstery is standard equipment. The seat design displays the horizontal ridged pattern made famous by so many Italian sports cars of the past. Front seats come with built-in head-restraints and are fully adjustable, divided by an armrest with a storage compartment. The rear seats offer a similar sporty configuration.

Alfa 147 GTA door panels reflect the same motifs and colours as the central part of the seats. Kick plates come with a satinised metal insert bearing the wording GTA in bright metal. The dashboard also displays new features, with special gauges and instruments featuring a black background. Meanwhile, a screen on the multifunction display shows engine oil temperature.
